When choosing to adopt from a rescue, you give a second chance to a deserving pet and contribute to the welfare of animals in need. It’s not only the deep fulfillment that comes from giving a home to an animal in need; happiness and the bond between a rescue dog, and its new family is immeasurable. The companionship, joy, and happiness is truly special for both parties, as is knowing you’re giving a dog a second chance to experience an unparalleled bond, and the love they deserve. These rewards can be immeasurable.

Bully breeds of all shapes and sizes come into our care. Some are scared, shut down, or may be in need of being the only pet in your home. Some to come to us when their guardians can no longer care for them due to illness, death, losing their homes and many other roads that lead to FBR. Finding homes for so many different personalities and the needs of our dogs may sometimes take a week, months, or even years. We know that eventually a person or family will meet them, fall in love, and be willing to put in the training, time, and love that each of these dogs needs.

This summer, we are highlighting a few of our dogs that in our opinion are perfect, yet haven’t seemed to find their family. Each dog highlighted today has been with us for over two years.

Franny

Franny is amazing! She has been with FBR almost three years. Franny does OK with other dogs if she’s introduced correctly, although she would prefer to be your one and only. Franny came to us through a local shelter where she was found as a stray. We noticed how quickly she was putting on weight and surprise of surprises, we discovered Franny was due with puppies. Once all the puppies found homes, she came to live with us at FBR. We have learned she loves to learn new tricks, she’s great at lounging around and is a wonderful walk. She’s so sweet so silly so mellow and we promise she would make everything about you! We know she will make a perfect dog and we have a vision of her being loved and cuddled on a couch in her own home.

Fina

Fina came into our care a little over two years ago. She was originally found as a stray, being fortunate enough to spend some time in a foster home. While living in her foster home her family consisted of two female Pit Bulls, one being a senior, and a male dog. There was also livestock on the property (her bestie was a donkey). She has a contagious happiness and a playful energy. She is smaller in size and could fit into an apartment or a home. The shelter life has been stressful for her. When potential adopters meet her, she can appear uninterested and curious in all that is around her, making it hard for the adopter to feel a “connection.” Fina will need a family that can see past the shelter stress, that will be patient with her and let her decompress. Once this happens, and she feels safe and she feels love that she so deserves, Fina is going to be the loving, amazing girl we all know.

Now let’s talk about the amazing Bixby! After being with us two years we have been lucky enough to get to know him. We know he is fantastic with other dogs any size male or female. He has perfect manners when he’s out in public and has done great at multiple events with every person and dog he meets. He loves to swim, run, hike, and play. If he had a quote, we feel it would “adventure awaits!”

Bixby

Bixby is tall and handsome, would need to be housebroken but as smart as he is, this shouldn’t take long. As amazing as Bixby is, his family would need to understand he needs time, training, daily exercise, but most importantly he needs love. If you’re willing to put in the time for Bixby, you’re going to have a best friend for life and a true constant companion.
