It started with a couple of farmers and the fruit of their harvest, searching for opportunities to sell fresh produce to Sanger ‘locals.’ Thirteen years later, Sanger has reaped the harvest of much, much more.

Welcome to the 14th annual Sanger Farmers’ Market and Street Faire.

Every Saturday night in June, get ready to enjoy a variety of activities. Each event operates from 6-10 p.m., and each week presents something new.

June 4th Salute to America’s Heroes: Local military and public service agencies have been invited to attend, with a ceremony to honor those attending at 8:00 p.m. There is a free car show with trophies awarded for “Best of Show” and “Participants Choice.” Cars will line up at 5:45 pm at 7th and “O” Street. The Sanger Fire Department will showcase a “Smoke Trailer” that will allow them to burn down a room to demonstrate how to get out of a room filled with smoke. The Sanger Masonic Lodge will be offering free Kid’s ID’s in Brehler Square. And don’t forget to stock up on all those fresh fruits and vegetables.

June 11th Health Fair Night: A variety of Health Organizations will be available to offer free blood pressure and information on living healthy. (You can buy all the fruits and vegetables your heart desires right here at the Faire.) The band “Bringing It Back” will be featuring all your favorite songs from the 50’s and 60’s and there will be an “Auto Extraction” demonstration by the Sanger Fire Department.

June 18th Tropical Paradise: Our local Sanger United Methodist Church will feature Polynesian Dancers performing at 8:30 p.m., along with the famous “Sanger Community Water-Ball” competition. This takes place on “N” Street and is sponsored by the Sanger Fire Department, who will also be teaching water safety. Challenge each other and get soaked with the Sanger firemen. While you’re drying off, be sure to enjoy the fresh local produce.

June 25th Sanger’s Got Talent: Does Sanger have talent? Come on out and show us at the Lip Sync & Karaoke Night. Individuals, families and church groups are invited to join in the fun which promises to bring a smile to your face, for a nominal $5.00 fee per group. You must be pre-registered by June 17th to participate in the talent show. Call the Chamber for an official talent form at 875-4575. Watch out, American Idol! May I suggest a wonderful snack while you’re watching the talent show? How about a fresh, juicy peach? You will find them right here at…you guessed it, Sanger’s Farmers’ Market.
