Here at Kings River Life we enjoy featuring businesses that are unique, so when I discovered Hummus Republic of Fresno I was interested in learning more about them. Recently, we chatted with one of their owners, Chloe Cardoza, to learn more. She co-owns Hummus Republic, Fresno with her fiancé Esteban Martinez.

KRL: When did it first open?

Chloe: We opened in April of 2021 Downtown, and recently on Palm/Nees in August of 2022.

KRL: Do you have a background in the food industry?

Chloe Cardoza & Esteban Martinez

CC: I do. Both my fiancé and I used to work at a local Mexican restaurant together. We also both worked at Starbucks as well.

KRL: Where did you get the idea for opening Hummus Republic and what was the process of making it happen?

Chloe: Hummus Republic is a franchise, small at first when we signed on, but now they have signed up almost 50 franchise owners and it is rapidly growing. Oh what a process it has been! We are first time business owners and we have learned so much.

KRL: What do you serve?

Chloe: We serve build-your-own Mediterranean food, similar to the Mediterranean Chipotle.

KRL: What makes you unique?

Chloe: The flavors. No other Mediterranean restaurant compares in town. We have a unique flavor profile as most Mediterranean restaurants locally use heavy butter flavoring. We don’t even have butter in our kitchen. We are a healthy and delicious option.

KRL: How would you describe Hummus Republic?

Chloe: Fast Casual Mediterranean Food.

KRL: Do you also have events there as well?

Chloe: We do Paint Night yes, cookie decorating as well. We are open to all local vendors and classes. We have a clay class coming up as well!

KRL: Where are you located and what are your hours?

KRL: Anything you would like to add?

Chloe: We are a local family with three amazing sons; we work full time in both restaurants. We appreciate articles like this to help spread the word to support our family. Thank you.

KRL: Thank you for taking the time to chat with us. I can’t wait to come taste your food!
