WEEKEND RECAP
vs. Dawson Creek Rage – Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada

FRIDAY, 2/4/2011: Friday marked the first game of the two-day road series against the Dawson Creek Rage. The Rage prevailed over the Monsters winning 4-1.

SATURDAY, 2/5/2011: The Monsters were victorious Saturday winning 5-1 over the Rage. Fresno was 2 for 5 on the power play for the evening, while the Monsters’ penalty killers were flawless stopping all 7 of Dawson Creek’s power play opportunities.

WSHL Monsters News: The WSHL Monsters had a weekend off last weekend. This weekend they will take on the defending league champion Phoenix Polar Bears. Friday the Monsters play at Selland Arena at 3:30pm, Saturday they play at Gateway Ice Center at 4:30pm, and Sunday’s game is at Gateway Ice Center at 10:00am. Gateway Ice Center is located on Marks, just north of Clinton in Fresno. Entry is $5 general admission, free for kids under 3.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT
STEPHEN OBARZANEK: Obarzanek scored two goals, including a power play goal and 1st star of the game honors on Saturday against the Dawson Creek Rage.

DEREK SUTLIFFE: Sutliffe scored a shorthanded goal on Saturday in the 1st period, which would hold up as the game-winning goal as the Monsters defeated the Dawson Creek Rage by a final score of 5-1.

LUIS PUIG: Puig was solid in net on Saturday, stopping 35 of 36 shots on goal including all 7 Dawson Creek power play opportunities. For his efforts Puig was given 2nd star of the game honors.

The gold medal for all-around wonderful kitty could easily go to darling Chicken Little! This cutiepie never misses an opportunity to hoot it up with her friends, explore any nook or cranny, and make it her mission to check out whatever happens to be going on. Chicken Little came along way after suffering a toe injury calling for immediate amputation. She's all better now and you can't even notice she's missing a rear toe.
