by Sheryl Wall

It is easy to think, ‘Oh, that will never happen to me and my pet.’ But when we look at the facts we should be concerned and taking actions to prevent pet theft. According to AKC’s Lisa Peterson on Fox News, dog theft in 2011 increased by 49%. Dogs are taken from owners’ locked cars, fenced back yards, and homes to name just a few places. If we look around, we see adds in the newspaper and posters posted all over our towns about lost dogs. How can we just ignore these facts that surround us?

Audrey dreams of someday having a real tree so Ted sets out to find one. His Grandma tells Ted about a man named Once-ler who lives outside of the town. Once-ler tells him what happened to the trees and how it was all his fault because he cut down the trees to make an invention called Thneeds.

Do you like to travel with your dog but have a hard time finding pet friendly places to stay? It can be a lot of fun taking our pets with us if we just knew where to go. The Dog Lover’s Companion to California is a great resource for dog friendly hotels, parks, beaches and more. This book is in sections of counties and they list what each county has to offer for pets and their owners. A map is also included for each section. I also like the humor and the wit of the writer’s personality that shows up throughout the pages.

I used to be an owner who didn’t brush my pet’s teeth, but my first cat had to have all his teeth removed to save his life. His teeth were causing him health concerns where there was no other option. I never want to experience that again and I now realize the importance of teeth and our pet’s health.

A Peek Into Life with an Irish Setter

by Sheryl Wall

Irish Setters are one of the most beautiful dogs that I know of, but it is more than just their beauty that makes them such amazing dogs. They are full of energy and are extremely affectionate. Being a family dog is also part of their characteristic. However, they are not the breed for everyone, for these dogs do demand a lot of attention and training. Without enough daily exercise, they can wreak havoc to the household. However, if you have the time to invest Irish Setters are incredible dogs.
