Much Ado About Nothing Presented On New COS Festival Stage

The College of the Sequoias Performing Arts will be presenting its first ever Shakespeare in the Park show, Much Ado About Nothing, starting this weekend on their new Festival Stage. We took a moment to chat with the show’s director, James McDonnell, about the show and the new stage. James is Professor of Theatre and Cinema as well as the Fine Arts Division Chair. He also serves as the resident costume designer for the productions and directs about half of the shows.

The Source Halloween Gala

The Source LGBT+ Center's 2nd Annual Halloween Gala, presented by Tucoemas Federal Credit Union, will be taking place on October 23. It is their fresh and inclusive update of the traditional nonprofit fundraising gala. The purpose of the gala is to raise funds to sustain operations of The Source LGBT+ Center in Visalia, which is one of the nation’s fastest growing LGBTQ+ centers. Recently we chatted with their director of Development and Strategy, Nick Vargas, to learn more.

A Night in Vegas A Visalia Players Fundraiser at the Ice House Theatre

A Night in Vegas, a fundraiser, kicks off the Players season on August 7. This gala event (dust off those party clothes that have been languishing in your closet) begins at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails and hors d'oeuvre in the Lobby of the Ice House. At 7:30 p.m. an evening of Frank Sinatra hits staring Jamie Hitchcock will kick off with an introduction by Visalia Players President Karl Schoettler.
