Grease marks the 40th year anniversary of the Creative Center in Visalia in more ways than one. The elbow grease it took in 1977, under the devoted and relentless leadership of Violet Gingsburg, to get this beloved landmark of Visalia up and running for one, and then there is this month’s theater performance of Grease.
The Visalia Arts Consortium, which began as a seed in the hearts and minds of artists, thespians, and lovers of creativity in the 1980s, finally has a New Space that will contribute creative cultural diversity in the Visalia Art District.
Here at Kings River Life we have a passion for the arts and we try to share that with our readers in every way we can. One way is by doing local actor/director profiles featuring some of the talented people that bring the Valley theatre. However, the person we are profiling this month is such a big part of the Visalia arts community that calling this simply an actor/director profile seems inadequate.
Drawn to the Music is a selection of drawings and photographs currently on view at the Visalia Transit Center. These works were created during the Taste of the Arts final event held the evening of September 11, 2010 at the City of Visalia’s Transit Center.
