In honor of Pride this month, we wanted to again interview a local LGBTQ+ performer like we did last year, so we reached out to local actor, singer, and so much more, Lilly Dale Read.
This Valley is blessed with an incredible amount of talented performers, artists, and writers, and one of those talented performers is local actor Amalie Larson. While she is currently a full time grad student at Fresno State working toward her Masters in geology, and a mom, she has also appeared in many productions in the area over the years.
Is The Voice one of your favorite shows of the season? If you’re going to miss it, do you record it so you can watch the performances later? Have you ever yearned to expand your singing ability, taking it from the shower to a showcase? If so, you’ll want to know all there is to know about Fresno’s own training ground for voices, from the very young to the young at heart.
This Valley is filled with wonderful talent of all kinds. This week we are profiling local actor and singer Jordan Litz, who came to Fresno thanks to being recruited by Fresno Pacific University to swim for them in 2011.
Recently I had the chance to see Devan Bolding perform as Cinderella's Prince and the Wolf in Raisin' Cain Players production of Into The Woods at the Selma Arts Center. I loved his voice and performance and thought what a fun local actor profile he would make for KRL. I went to check him out and found out that he is also a musician. So I took some time to chat with this talented performer and learn more.

Here at KRL we like to point the spotlight on some of the incredible talent we have in the Valley. One way is by profiling local theatre actors and directors. This month we are profiling one of the younger actors shining on Fresno stages, Sarah Waxman, whom you may have seen this summer in A Chorus Line.
Sharing her passion for singing and for seeing kids being given the stage, are the top reasons Fairmont's new singing teacher, Heather Layne, gives for why she decided to teach a singing class called Sing It, once a week at Fairmont Elementary School in Sanger.
It has been my privilege at KRL to see some incredible theatre in this Valley and I have been blown away by the talent here. A name that I had been hearing constantly ever since I began covering local theatre was Terry Lewis--not just as an incredible performer but also as a great vocal coach. Yet I kept missing my chance to see him perform, though I had definitely seen his work as a vocal coach for some incredible shows. Finally, this year I saw him in Avenue Qand yes, he is everything they say he is.
