If you are looking for a shave and haircut I wouldn’t recommend the barber Sweeney Todd, but if you are looking to see a good musical, I do recommend you going to see Sweeney Todd the musical now on stage at the Reedley Opera House.

Let me begin by rectifying a long-held belief by some and perpetuated by others: Jesse Janzen was not an old Danish sea captain. Even though many people will say Jesse retired from the sea and ships, it was actually his father who was the captain. That being said, let’s get back to our story about the Opera House.

Well another year of theatre in the Valley has come to an end and as always, there were some really great shows.
Valley premiere’s included Bonnie & Clyde in Visalia, which was also one of my favorite shows of the year.

This weekend we had the pleasure of seeing a fun musical that I’d never seen before, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, featuring the music of Neil Sedaka. It opened this past weekend at the Reedley Opera House, presented by the Reedley River City Theatre Company.

One would expect a musical named after a beauty product to be silly and fluffy, and while the musical Hairspray is filled with a lot of fun, energy, and laughter, it also has an amazing message–this is why it is one of my favorite shows. Hairspray opened this past weekend at the Reedley Opera House, presented by the Reedley River City Theatre Co., and I must say they have definitely done this show justice!

The heartwarming tale of an orphan named Annie has been touching hearts for years–first as a comic strip and then as a musical, and later as movies. This month the musical Annie comes to life again on the stage of the Reedley Opera House, presented by the River City Theatre Company.

With Blossoms Up! opening at the Reedley Opera House this next weekend, it seemed the perfect time to take a look at the man behind its main character, Fanny Feastyoureyes, Matt Wiebe.

This Valley is filled with incredible talent that often is overlooked. It can be easy to forget that there is great theatre, music, literature, and film right here where we live. At KRL, we desire to raise that awareness and one way is by doing profiles on local actors, directors, writers, and others.
