It was the summer of 1964. My family was on our annual pilgrimage back to Texas and Oklahoma. This year, though, instead of heading to Texas first, we stopped in Tulsa to give Grandma’s yard a major trim and clean-up, and get the house ready for the coming winter.
Earlier this year I learned about a program at Reedley College called NextUp-it is a program that helps support foster youth at community colleges. So I took some time to chat with Aaren Cobb, Ed.D, NextUp Counselor/Coordinator at Reedley College, to learn more about what this program does.

The Reedley College Tigers lost a heartbreaker Saturday night, falling to Hartnell College 23-20 in Salinas.
Tiger quarterback Austen Bray threw an interception with less than a minute to play that allowed Hartnell to try a game winning field goal. The kick was wide left, but the Reedley coaches called a timeout just before the snap, so Hartnell’s kicker was able to try it again and kicked it through the uprights from 43 yards out for the win.
