The Wind Reservation in Wyoming has been hit hard by the economy, just like the rest of the country. Cowboys especially have a hard time finding work, since ranches are smaller, resources scarcer, and money scarcest of all.
Father John hears a lot in confession at the Mission, but this is the first time he’s heard a confession to murder. The man who confessed was anguished that it had to be done but not regretful that he killed a man. Unfortunately, the priest doesn’t recognize the voice and wasn’t fast enough to catch a glimpse of the murderer.
