If you combined ‘50s oldies and '80s punk, and if the eccentric filmmaker John Waters was looking for a band to put in a movie, or to provide the soundtrack to his retro esthetic, it would most definitely be Shannon and The Clams. They look and sound like they’re from another era, and they for sure live up to it.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and no one in the Central Valley is better or more qualified to bring much-needed holiday cheer than the man, the myth, the legend: Nate Butler! He’ll be hosting the 27th Annual Mmm-Mmm Christmas: The Island of Misfit Toys Edition at Fulton 55 on December 13.

On Wednesday, January 10, Drake Bell, the former actor and teen heartthrob from the Nickelodeon program The Drake and Josh Show, made his way to Fresno to perform a one-man acoustic set at Fulton 55. He is currently on tour in support of his recent four song EP, Honest.
Not only is this area blessed with a lot of great theatre, but we have several great clubs and concert venues as well. Over time we plan to cover more of them, but this week we thought we would touch base with some of those we have already covered in the past--Kuppajoe All Ages Nightclub, Victory Cafe, Fulton 55, and The Cellar Door--to do an overview of what each one has to offer, and see if anything new has happened since we profiled them.
