Familia Featuring works by Francisco Alonzo At COS

The COS Art Gallery is back with a new schedule of exhibitions. Our first one of the Fall 2014 semester is Familia featuring works by COS art faculty member Francisco Alonzo. The show, which features large installations and paintings, will run August 26 through September 19 with an opening reception on Thursday, August 28 from 5-7 p.m. in the COS Art Gallery.

The Mystery of Edwin Drood Presented By COS

This past weekend I had the opportunity to see The Mystery of Edwin Drood presented by the College of the Sequoias Theatre department in Visalia. I must say I had no idea what to expect, but was drawn in by the title and the cast. It turned out to be a delightful evening of theatre.

COS Art Gallery: Layered Perspectives

The month of March is Women’s History Month. In honor of this, the COS Art Gallery will feature three female artists in the upcoming exhibit, Layered Perspectives featuring works by Lisa Occhipinti, Jessie Hornbrook and COS’s own Laura Melancon. The show will open March 11 and run through April 2, 2014 with a reception held on Thursday, March 13 from 5-7 p.m. (At press time the reception has already taken place)

COS Art Gallery Presents: What’s Up Where?

The COS Art Gallery is installing its last exhibition for the fall semester: What's Up Where? A Sampling of Prints, Drawings and Collaborations from the Harcos - Huneke Collection. The show contains just a fraction of works from the collection of Julie Harcos and Jack Huneke who run Stonehouse Residency for the Contemporary Arts in Miramonte, CA. The show will run from November 5 through December 6 with an opening reception on Thursday, November 7 from 5-7 p.m. in the Kaweah Building Room 214.

COS Art Gallery proudly presents: Utopia : Dystopia featuring works by Erik Waterkotte & Aaron S. Coleman

This October, the College of the Sequoias Art Gallery will be presenting the exhibition Utopia : Dystopia featuring works by Erik Waterkotte and Aaron S. Coleman. Using their backgrounds in printmaking, each artist creates layered imagery that deals with a variety of social, religious and political issues of our modern day society. The Exhibition will run from October 1 through October 25 with a reception on Thursday, October 3 from 5-7 p.m. in the Kaweah building on the College of the Sequoias campus in Room 214. As always, the reception is FREE and open to the public.
