COS Art Gallery Presents Recent Works: COS Art Department Faculty Show

Have you ever wondered who teaches in the COS Art Department and do they still make art? The answer is: Yes they do! As a way to introduce the students and the public to their “other job,” the COS Art Gallery will be kicking off the fall semester with Recent Works: COS Art Department Faculty Show. The exhibition will run from August 28 to September 21. The opening reception is on Thursday, August 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. Come out; the faculty will be in attendance.

Painting a Community Into Existence: Reza Assemi and the Mural District

Reza Assemi has been keeping an urban diary for 12 years. At age 17, he left Fresno and pursued business, hiking national parks, and a philosophy degree. When he returned to the Valley, he brought curiosity, creativity, and imagination and began to invest those qualities in creating something entirely new out of old things in the city. He has made a mark and is continuing to make a mark.

New Season Begins At COS Art Gallery

The College of the Sequoias Art Gallery will be welcoming back students, faculty and the community at large with our first exhibition of the semester, Folding Metaphors, opening Tuesday, August 30th. The opening reception is on Thursday, September 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. Also, there have been a few changes with the gallery including newly extended hours! The exhibit features three nationally known artists.
