This holiday will be a tough one with social distancing from family traditions and turkey. So, enjoy two new series and the offerings (and offings) from some of your favorite mystery authors.

Sugar Springs, Mississippi, is getting ready for an all-class reunion. Bookstore owner Arlo Stanley plans to have a book-signing with the town’s legendary bestselling author. When the man is found dead outside of Arlo’s front door, her best friend is questioned. The ladies of the Friday Night Book Club decide to investigate. They find the betrayed wife, a disgruntled assistant, and a local man with a grudge are possible suspects. You Can’t Judge a Book by Its Murder is the first in the Main Street Book Club Mysteries by Amy Lillard.

Calling all crossword puzzle enthusiasts. Puzzling Ink is the first in the new Crossword Puzzle mysteries by Becky Clark. Quinn Carr landed a job creating crossword puzzles for a local paper in Colorado. It’s not enough money so she also waitresses. When a customer dies face down in his biscuits and gravy, Quinn suspects her boss. But there are also two ex-wives to consider. The police chief doesn’t want an investigation, preferring to believe the town has no crime. Quinn has a job ahead of her before the killer gets the last word.

Leslie Meier gives us a two-for-one with Gobble, Gobble Murder. Tinker’s Cove, Maine, celebrates Thanksgiving with visits from Tom Turkey, high school football game, and Lucy Stone’s pumpkin pie. But this year a Native American activist is found dead, and Lucy’s feathers are more than ruffled in Turkey Day Murder. The book originally came out in 2000. The second book, Turkey Trot Murder, came out in 2017. The “trot” is a 5K race on Thanksgiving Day, and Lucy expects it to be uneventful. When a beautiful woman is found frozen in Blueberry Pond, the people of Tinker’s Cove are uneasy. It’s a race to beat a killer to the finish line.

In her twelfth The Inn at Holiday Bay mystery, Kathi Daley celebrates the holiday with Turkey in the Trap Room. Abby Sullivan’s Thanksgiving pageant in Maine has been jinxed from the start. The director got bitten by a snake, and then the star is found dead in a trap door. Meanwhile, guests keep checking in, including three half-sisters. Their mother left each of them an inheritance, providing they solve a mystery within ten days. Kathi also has another mystery out, listed in Best of the Rest. ?

Thanksgiving and her wedding are around the corner when Key West food critic Hayley Snow gets a frantic call from a friend. The woman was running a seafood tasting tour until one of the customers dropped dead. The police are ready to shut down the tour which will ruin the business. Could a pastry chef and her Key Lime Pie be the murder weapon—or a frame up? A Deadly Feast is the ninth in the Key West Food Critic mysteries by Lucy Burdette.

According to author Libby Klein, Wine Tastings Are Murder. Gluten-free baker Poppy McAllister and her grandma agree to host a Wine and Cheese Happy Hour for a grumpy tour group at their Butterfly House B&B on the Jersey Shore. One very rich old man should be happier as he’s on his honeymoon with a much younger wife, Sunny (oh, I like that name, don’t I?). When the man is poisoned during a winery tour, Poppy puts baking on hold while she tries to find out who has sour grapes in this fifth Poppy McAllister series. Includes seven recipes from Poppy’s Kitchen!
