In Crossword Mysteries: Abracadaver, New York Sentinel crossword puzzle editor Tess Harper, played by Lacey Chabert, teams with NYPD Detective Logan O’Connor, played by Brennan Elliott, to solve the mystery of who murdered a famous magician during a live-stage performance. 
How was this bold trick done, and who did it? Was it the magician’s beautiful stage assistant who wanted headliner status, his ballroom dancing married girlfriend, the girlfriend’s husband, another magician, a former stage partner, the person who helped design his tricks, or someone else? Can Tess and Logan work together and solve this sleight of hand murder, or will the murderer remain free to continue his tricks?
In Crossword Mysteries: Proposing Murder, Tess’s crossword puzzle friend is murdered as he is about to propose to his girlfriend in the Sunday Crossword Puzzle.
Who did the deed? The ex-girlfriend who is sending him threatening letters, the assistant who seems to be too close to the current girlfriend, the girlfriend, or someone else entirely? Can Tess and Logan find the murderer, and what does a treasure in jewels have to do with the murder?
This series of murder mysteries continues to delight and entertain. The cast works well together, and the murder scripts will keep you guessing right to the surprising conclusions. I really like how well Tess and Connor work together to solve some surprising crimes. I highly recommend this series of murders to all mystery fans.
