Hallmark Movies and Mysteries presents Danica McKellar and Victor Webster in Hallmark’s newest Signature Mysteries, Matchmaker Mysteries: A Killer Engagement.

Danica stars as successful matchmaker, Angie Dove, whose latest client is accused of killing his fiancée at their engagement party. Victor plays police detective, Kyle Cooper, whose investigation is constantly being interrupted by Angie who is doing her own investigation. Her skill at deduction seems to be in her DNA since her father, played by Bruce Boxleitner, is a well-respected retired detective who trained Detective Cooper. Angie is convinced that the man and his fiancée were truly in love, and he couldn’t have killed her. The list of suspects is long and includes the man’s ex-wife, the woman’s ex-boyfriend, the man’s estranged son, and the couple’s business partners. hallmark mystery movies

Danica McKellar played Winnie in The Wonder Years and has appeared in several Hallmark Movies. She is also an advocate of education and has written six non-fiction books in the field of mathematics in which she holds a degree. The books are aimed at middle and high school girls to encourage them in the field of mathematics.

Victor Webster has been in both television and film, including a stint on Mutant-X and several Hallmark Movies along with work on the Netflix series, Workin’ Moms.

I really enjoyed the interplay between Angie and Kyle. They brought their characters to life with effortless ease and played off each other very well. I liked how Angie stands by her convictions and beliefs and knows how to match people up. I also appreciate how Kyle treats Angie’s ideas with respect even when she is inserting herself right into the middle of his investigation. Angie is stubborn and hardheaded but has a good heart. Kyle handles his investigation with ease and works with Angie on every step of the case.

The identity of the murderer came as a complete surprise, but there were clues along the way. The murder plot twists and turns and gives us several false conclusions before a very satisfactory ending. I highly recommend this enjoyable outing in Hallmark’s Signature Mysteries lineup.

  1. Matchmaker Mysteries: A Killer Engagement
The first of the Matchmaker Mysteries, terrible!!! Horrible writing and corny. I finally fast-forwarded to see who the killer was and ended the misery of trying to watch this farce.
I’ve enjoyed most of the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries, but this was an exception.
