Wilfred is a five-year-old Terrier mix that came to Valley Animal Center in 2016. Wilfred was adopted, but unfortunately was returned to the center two years later because the owner was moving into a senior-living facility. Wilfred is shy and a bit timid around new people and dogs. This Terrier mix loves toys and is a great lap dog once he gets acclimated to his surroundings.

When adopting a new dog it may take a few weeks for the animal’s true personality to show. Understanding the needs of your new pet includes creating routines and maintaining a schedule for walks, feeding, play, etc. Because Wilfred came back to the shelter, we would love to see him truly find his forever home in a low-energy environment. Wilfred is good around other dogs his own size and really enjoys his nap time. He is looking for an owner who is willing to work with him and give him the time and attention to make him feel safe.

March is our Pennies for Pets change campaign, with a goal set of $85,000. We will be out in the community collecting change donations at different locations each weekend in the month of March. Like all of our adoptable animals, Wilfred has already been neutered, de-wormed, is up-to-date on his vaccinations, and is micro-chipped. For the month of March the adult dog adoption fee is $100 and the adult cat adoption fee is $50. Our cat and dog adoption centers are open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
