ratsWe could have admired the cover, by illustrator Drusilla Kehl, all day! The three rattie cooks, fetchingly attired in aprons and chef’s hats, cavorting around kitchen while juggling trays of delicious cakes and biscuits is delightful. Needless to say, we thought the recipes looked just as yummy!

Varieties of squash, mushy peas, beans – they’re all there, and so well integrated that our mum thought she might like to eat the dishes herself! We loved the Sauteed squash and mushrooms! We didn’t realize there were mushrooms in the dish, because when offered previously, we turned up our discerning little noses.

For example: Sauteed Squash and Mushrooms.

Ingredients: 4 yellow squash, 4 zucchini, 16oz white button mushrooms and 2 tablespoons of oil.

What did we do with these? Well, you’ll have to read the recipe to find out! You will have to tweak the amounts of the ingredients to suit your rattie numbers, but your mum could probably freeze most of the dishes for later – if you ask her nicely with rattie kisses.

Beautifully crafted and set out, this cookbook is a must for all our rattie mate’s mums and we highly recommended it. All proceeds for the purchase of this book goes to help support rat rescue For the Love of Rats.
