Bella is a vampire. She’s married to Edward, and thanks to a weird twist of vampirism that nobody seems to be able to explain, she’s now the mother of a half-vampire, half-human girl named Renesme. Unfortunately for Bella and Edward, the Voluturi – an evil vampire council that pretty much rules the world – wants Renesme dead, and the love struck couple is going to have to move heaven and earth to save her. Literally.
When I was in High School, I read the Twilight books like every other girl in America. I am now in my second year of college, so it seems like Twilight has been going on for a long time. Breaking Dawn Part Two is the last installment of this romance saga, and by the time we get here the plot is a little lost. Rest assured, Twihards, there are plenty of Jacob/Edward moments that will have you clapping and cheering (like the diehard fans in our theater), but beyond that, there’s not a lot of tension. And tension is, of course, essential when you’re trying to keep an audience entertained.
Like always, the unneeded sex scenes in the movie made me laugh out loud (there weren’t any in the books, but apparently filmmakers needed to fill time), but it was a satisfying ending to a saga that has existed solely on sparkly chests, wolves with great abs, and a girl who just can’t seem to realize that being a bloodsucker may not be the best thing for her health. In all honesty, I did enjoy the books, but the movies (with exception of Taylor Lautner, of course!) don’t hold my attention like the literature did.
