As the football season winds down, there’s not a whole lot left to say about the season for the Reedley College Tigers. Saturday’s 41-7 loss to College of the Sequoias was a repeat of the other eight losses the Tigers have suffered this year: poor defense, spotty offense and a lopsided loss.
And to add a little salt to the wound, Saturday’s homecoming crowd had to watch former Tiger backup quarterback Taylor Genuser throw for 343 yards and four touchdowns, all of them to Cougar Williams, who had 111 yards receiving. The only touchdown for Reedley came on a ten-yard touchdown run by Tre Powell.
The Tigers’ poorest season in decades comes to an end this coming Saturday against the undefeated Valley Conference Champion Fresno City College Rams, who clinched the conference title Saturday with a come from behind win against San Joaquin Delta. Not to be pessimistic, but a Reedley win this Saturday would constitute the biggest upset in recent memory. The Tigers would have to play a perfect game, and the Rams would have to be looking past the game to the NorCal championship game. Anything is possible, I suppose. After all, the Giants won the World Series last year.

In listening to your webcast last Saturday, I definitely agree about the lousy state of the NorCal playoffs (2 teams only?) … however, as of last season (2010) SoCal has only 4 teams in their playoff, not 8.
Thanks for the info, Greg. I didn’t know they had changed their format. I wish NorCal would try it>
Very interesting.. Football our for boys.. But I like watching it too! Very massive entertainment..
