The Road Chip is the newest Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. It starts out with Dave introducing his girlfriend, Samantha, and her son Miles to the chipmunks over mini golf. When the grownups aren’t looking Miles plays pranks on the chipmunks but when they are watching he acts like a perfect gentlemen.
Dave is going to Miami for work and taking along his girlfriend leaving Miles and the chipmunks at the house alone. None of the kids are happy about this and when Alvin finds a ring they all worry about becoming family. The Chipmunks and Miles get a plane ticket to go after Dave and Samantha but they only have enough money for one ticket so the chipmunks stow away and end up wreaking havoc getting kicked off the flight. They have to find another way to Miami and run into many roadblocks on their travels but also learn to actually start liking the idea of becoming brothers. The whole way to Miami they are chased by the Air police who want to put them in jail.
The Road Chip is a classic Chipmunk movie with all the chaos and mayhem expected in a movie with Alvin and his brothers. And they always get the classic scene in the movie where Dave yells at Alvin. It’s a fun movie to watch, though the plots are usually predictable. Miles is a fun new character though at first I really didn’t like him at all. He grew on me and I think that was the idea for he also grew on the chipmunks as the story unfolded. If you are an Alvin and the Chipmunks fan you will definitely enjoy the Road Chip and even if you aren’t it’s a fun movie to take the kids to see during the holiday season.
