Have you indulged in Karen MacInerney’s Dewberry Farm series yet? The author has taken recipes included in the first six books and developed a cookbook from Lucy’s Farmhouse Kitchen. They include her grandma’s recipes for Texas peach cobbler, pecan pie, Christmas bread, and spicy enchiladas. There are also kitchen and garden tips and a recipe for homemade soaps.

Get Clobbered to Death with a new series by Rosemarie Ross. Courtney Archer hosts a show called Cooking with the Farmer’s Daughter, although her dad is a pediatrician. Now she’s signed up for the reality show, The American Baking Battle. While shooting in the Pocono Mountains, Courtney is threatened by a contestant who discovers her fake farm girl story. Our heroine goes on to make a cherry cobbler in a cast-iron skillet and sets it out to cool. The next morning her enemy’s body turns up, and the skillet may be the murder weapon.

More cherries turn up in Karen Rose Smith’s Murder with Cherry Tarts, number four in her Daisy’s Tea Garden mysteries. Set in Amish country, Daisy Swanson is trying to run a tea shop and at the same time plan her daughter’s wedding. When she discovers an employee taking soup and bread at the end of shift, she investigates. Turns out the woman has been helping a struggling single dad who sells antiques at Pirate’s Treasure. When another person is bludgeoned to death with a marble rolling pin at the antique store, the dad is the main suspect.

There’s a Cast Iron Alibi for murder in the ninth Vintage Kitchen mystery by Victoria Hamilton. Jaymie Leighton collects antique cookware and cookbooks in Michigan. She’s looking forward to a vacation/reunion with girlfriends from college. But quickly old tensions and petty squabbles surface. So do tagalong friends, unexpected guests, ex-husbands, and a handyman Romeo. When the handyman is murdered and his home set on fire, Jaymie suspects one of her classmates may be involved. Look for vintage recipes in this mystery!

Got a craving for Italian food? J.D. Griffo’s got you covered. In the third Ferrara Family mystery, Alberta Scaglione and friends head to Icicle Lodge in Pennsylvania for R&R. They discover blood on the ice and the corpse of an Olympic figure skater who has more enemies than fans. Headed their way is a blizzard, Alberta needs to solve the bone-chilling case. Murder at Icicle Lodge includes Italian recipes from Alberta’s kitchen.
