“You’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So… get on your way!”
Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You’ll Go!
Books are the magic that can effortlessly transport us to places near, far and in between.
Step through the doors of the newest branch of the Fresno County Public Library, and you’ll be greeted by the cool air, accented with the sites and sensations that only books can bring. Books can transport you to places where you can live, dream and discover the wonder within the words. Located in northwest Fresno at Teague Elementary School, this recently opened branch of the Fresno County Public Library provides a world of fun, fiction, information, and technology, all at your fingertips. Whether you’re looking for a journey into a fictional world or searching for scientific or educational information, the Teague Branch of the Fresno County Library has it all.
Elected officials, dignitaries, school leaders, community members, residents, and students alike gathered recently for the grand opening ceremony of this new Teague Branch, which was held on August 20. All came together with the common goal of celebrating the opening of this new library, which began as a collaborative idea and is now a reality!
For the past few years, Central Unified has been working tirelessly to create libraries within walking distance for Central families and those who live nearby. This new branch has opened as a result of an innovative joint-use partnership with Central Unified School District. It was designed to provide more literary and research opportunities for Fresno’s northwest residents, and it’s already fulfilling that goal.
Jonathan Waltmire, the Fresno County Library Public Information Officer, further explained, “The Fresno County Public Library is always looking to expand and provide better access to library services. Opening this branch will provide that access to all those who live near Teague Elementary School. We are excited to have this new branch open and look forward to a successful partnership with Central Unified.”
From the enthusiastic welcome this new branch of the library has already received, it’s clear to see that
residents and students alike share Jonathan’s sentiment.
Stop by and experience this new library for yourself! The Teague Library is located at Teague Elementary School, 4725 N. Polk Ave. in Fresno. This branch will be open during after-school hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
