Details at the end of this post on how to win a copy of Whispers in the Wind, along with a link to purchase it.
Sunny Davis is visited by a vision of her best friend Gina moments before receiving a phone call of Gina’s suicide. Sunny receives the news with horror and disbelief and even guilt because of the two women’s last conversation. Sunny finds it difficult to believe that Gina would leave her three sons in such a horrible manner.
Sunny and her husband leave their home in San Francisco to go to Reno to be with their daughter, Rita. Gina had been Rita’s babysitter for years.
As the story continues, it becomes obvious to Sunny that her friend did not kill herself. No way would Gina have shot herself with a rifle for her three boys to find her. Of course, no one believes her. Gina’s spirit visits Sunny many times, confirming her suspicions.
The longer Sunny stays in Reno and spends time on the reservation, the more suspects become apparent, as well as the fact that she is in danger. As the story unfolds, relationships from the past and present, hers and others, complicate Sunny’s investigation.
A taut and intriguing mystery, filled with unusual characters and interwoven with Native American traditions, plays out in a complicated and surprising manner.

Intriguing and fascinating story which I would enjoy greatly.
The title “Whispers in the Wind” is perfect for this book and just a great title. A mystery set on a reservation is a new one for me and unique. I would read this book most definitely.
