Welcome to Kings River Life Magazine:

a local focus with global appeal — including Teen Talk & Mysteryrat’s Maze.
Monday Movie Reviews at 7pm & Local Live feature Wednesdays at 7pm
with new articles every Saturday at 10am!

Any San Joaquin Valley area writers interested in submitting either articles or photography to be considered for publication in the Kings River Life Magazine, please contact the publisher, Lorie Lewis Ham, via life[at]KingsRiverLife[dot]com or the contact form below. Submissions especially encouraged from local teens. We are also very interested in local events, so please send us your press releases as well, as much in advance as possible. We have an event calendar, local links, and event pages.

We are also expanding as we have seen our readership is growing across the country, to consider submissions from any writer with a California connection, especially in the area of mystery short stories and reviews. We will also consider mystery short stories that are set in California even if the writer is not. We prefer that short stories not be longer than 2000 words, but longer stories may be considered. For more information on submitting in this area please contact us at the above email address.

Special note for mystery writers: In the area of mystery short stories we have lifted the requirement that there be any California connection, though it will always been an added bonus when there is. So no matter where you are from or where your story is set submit away! We do accept reprints as long as it has been at least several months since the story was first published.

Another area we are now accepting submissions for is our new Rodent Ramblings category–we will consider short story and article submissions that include rats, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs. For more information please email us at the above address. You need not be connected to or live in California for this category of submissions.

At this time, there is no monetary compensation for any submissions, but all authors/photographers may include a link to either their website or blog. Frequent contributors may also qualify to receive ad space on this website. Kings River Life Magazine retains first publication rights (or, in some cases, second) for all contributions for a full 60 days from the publication date, after which the author is free to reprint their submission elsewhere if credit is given to Kings River Life for first publication of the item. However, some exceptions can be made upon request from the author.

Please include a three sentence bio, including age and school for teens or your website/blog for anyone 20+, to accompany the article if it is accepted.

Thank you for your interest in submitting to Kings River Life Magazine, what do you have in mind?
