Meet Jennifer Shannon (Lori Loughlin) and her business partner and best friend, Dani (Sarah Strange). Together they own Rags to Riches, an antique and consignment store and thanks to Jennifer being a “Murder Magnet,” they also solve crimes! This August the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel gave viewers an entire month of new Garage Sale Mysteries.
In The Pandora’s Box Murders, Jennifer and Dani are busy filming a reality show segment about their shop when they are approached by a woman who wants their help in opening a wooden puzzle box which belonged to her recently deceased mother-in-law. When Jennifer finds the woman’s body at the foot of the same stairs that her mother-in-law fell to her death from, things don’t add up. Were the two accidents really “accidents,” or is something else going on?
The Mask Murder finds Jennifer and Dani successfully bidding on the contents of a foreclosed storage locker. When Jennifer returns to the locker facility, she is offered the opportunity of looking at and bidding on a second locker. When she opens the door she finds the murdered body of a young woman! As the case continues, Jennifer finds that the storage facility owner appears to be involved in something shady. Why was the woman murdered, and who did it?
In Picture A Murder, Jennifer takes an antique camera collection on consignment from the estate of a wealthy, local collector. When she discovers that one of the cameras has film in it, she gets it developed, only to find a photo of the deceased collector with someone’s hands around his neck with a syringe in them! Who was the murderer, and why did they do it?
Murder in D Minor finds Jennifer buying an antique player piano from the estate of local art collector who died from an apparent heart attack. While her friend is preparing to fix the piano, he is attacked and someone starts dismantling the piano. The auction house staff, a European law man, and the man’s granddaughter all seem to want the piano for one reason or another. What is the piano hiding, and who is ready to kill for it?
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries continues to give us some great movies based on mystery stories. The Garage Sale Mysteries has the most entries, and I think the cast work wonderfully together. The scenery and background are well done, too. The murder plots always have multiple suspects and many twists and turns before the final reveal. For a evening of pure enjoyment you can’t beat any or all of these movies. Hallmark continues to bring us new ones every few months, and I can’t wait to watch all of them.

I’ve seen all these movies more then once and enjoyed them all. But I do have to say my fav. is the Murder She Baked Series, hoping they will continue with that series too.
Every year I keep my fingers crossed for a few ‘Christmas Mysteries’ during the season. There are so many good cozy type Christmas Mysteries out there.
Oh, maybe they could show those on the regular Hallmark channel. I’d love to watch these cozy mysteries, but we don’t get the Movies & Mysteries Hallmark channel. They sure sound good though.
