Details at the end of this post on how to win an ebook copy of Tailed, and a link to purchase the book from Amazon.
Let me introduce you to Beth, the “Landlady” and Sylvester, the “Psycho Cat!” Beth, her husband Arnie, and her sister Meg, and brother-in-law Paul are ending a great RV vacation to Texas when both their trucks are broken into and Paul’s gun is stolen, along with keys to Beth’s and Arnie’s RV and the paperwork with its current location. While checking out the thefts another set of police discover a dead body in a nearby trash dumpster, and the murder weapon is Paul’s stolen gun.
As the RVers hit the road back to Kansas City, Beth is convinced that she keeps seeing the same vehicle following them along the way. Why are the thieves tailing them all the way from Texas to Kansas City, and what is “Psycho Cat” trying to tell Beth with his actions? The cops figure out that the dead body is related to a drug deal gone bad, but where are the drugs and the others involved in the drug ring? Did they step on someone’s toes by trying to deal in that part of San Antonio or are they just having a bad day? Once they are home in Kansas City, Beth again spots the vehicle that she is sure has been following them from Texas and starts to piece together what is really happening. Fumbling crooks and a crazy cat have Beth running down clues trying to find the real murderer and why they are being tailed!
I really enjoyed meeting these delightful and well drawn characters. The setting is well done and quite descriptive. The story bounces from Beth’s viewpoint to the thieves and back again, making for a great read. This is the fourth book in this series, and I definitely want to read the first three. A must for cozy and cat fans alike!
