Details at the end of this post on how to enter to win a signed copy of The Nothing, along with a link to purchase the book.
The Nothing is the final book in a trilogy about Dreamshifter Vivian Maylor. With people dying in their sleep in Wakeworld (which is basically our world), Vivian travels with her ragtag group of companions through the increasingly unstable Between on a quest to find a way to stop all the worlds from falling apart completely.
Among those on this quest with Vivian are her love Zee, a young dragon, and her penguin sidekick Poe. Even though Vivian hates the dark magic of the Sorcieri, she believes they have the key to stopping all of this. It takes the help of not only the reluctant Master of the Sorcieri, but also the Giants, Vivian’s mother, another Dreamshifter, and an unusual little girl, to find the answers to save the worlds. Vivian and Zee also have to face the tension in their relationship because Vivian is also a dragon and Zee is a dragon slayer. In the end, Vivian has to be willing to sacrifice everything she loves to save the worlds before the Nothing swallows it all.
This is a complicated story from the first book Between, through the second Wakeworld, and now The Nothing. Kerry has done an amazing job of weaving this intricate plot and all the worlds together to make for a great story. There is love, magic, dragons, Giants, and much more. I would have to say this is one of the most intricate plots I’ve read, and I find myself now wanting to go back through and reread the whole trilogy in a row, as I’m sure there are things I missed.
If you enjoy fantasy novels I highly recommend all three books, and I encourage you to read them in order otherwise you will be totally lost. And even better, a nice binge reading of all three one right after the other is probably the best way to go.
