Details at the end of this post on how to enter to win a copy of Breach of Crust, along with a link to purchase it from an indie bookstore where a portion goes to support KRL, and a link to purchase it from Amazon.

Ella Mae LeFaye may have lost her magical gifts, but she still retains her extraordinary baking skills. In order to save the magical community of Havenwood, Georgia, Ella Mae was forced to sacrifice both her magic and her position as their Clover Queen. It’s a choice that she has never regretted making.

Ella Mae’s reputation as a baker for her Charmed Pie Shoppe has spread throughout the South, and that is what has led Beatrice Burbank to her door. The president of Sweet Briar’s exclusive Camellia Club has come to hire Ella Mae to be one of her three professional chefs teaching classes at their club’s centennial celebration retreat. With the proceeds of the cookbook they issue out of that event benefiting a cause close to Ella Mae’s heart, there’s no question of refusal.book

Ella Mae barely has a chance to agree before discovering the body of Bea, floating off of the dock of Lake Havenwood. While the local authorities declare it the result of an unfortunate accident, Bea’s daughter Liz Fisher angrily disagrees. Liz’s distress and loss over forever coming second to the Camellia Club naturally has Ella Mae’s sympathetic and willing to do anything to ease Liz’s pain. Liz contends that the power wielded by the president of the Camellia Club is worth killing for, and it’s an assertion that seems to bear out as candidates begin to fall one by one.

This extraordinary series definitely falls into the realm of fantasy, with an entire mythology built around the Havenwood community. Ella Mae is rebuilding her relationship with Hugh Dylan, who similarly lost his water powers and is coping with the aftereffects. Love is running rampant throughout the town, as a gifted “Book Nerd” professor brought in to help Ella Mae track down magical artifacts also enchants her mother Adelaide.

One of the most compelling aspects of this series has been the legendary war between the LeFaye and Gaynor families, whose enmity began with Morgan Le Fay and Guinevere and continues with their descendants Ella Mae and Loralyn Gaynor. Although her mother has settled for peace, Loralyn persists in her endeavors to torture and destroy Ella Mae.

This is book 5 in the series, and recipes and delicious culinary descriptions further enhance this enthralling blend of fantasy and mystery that will delight readers of both genres.

    • Did you change [dot] to an actual dot? We post it that way because the other generates spam. Either way by posting here you are already entered 🙂
