July Concerts and Shows Review

by Steven Sanchez

When Americans celebrate the Fourth of July, we anticipate food, drinks, American flags decorated on everything, but most importantly...fireworks. One after the other, just a symphony of exploding lights, seeing what the next one is going to look like, what color will it be, and will it be bigger than the last one? Fireworks are very similar to what live entertainment is like here in the Central Valley, who’s coming into town this time, how will this show be?

Fresno Filmworks: Fresno’s Independent Film Source

by Lorie Lewis Ham

We like to say that Fresno Filmworks is your local source for independent film. We show movies every second Friday of the month at the historic Tower Theatre, and we also put on the annual Fresno Film Festival each spring. Filmworks likes to show current independent and international movies that you can’t see at the local multiplex, and we also like to show documentaries and multicultural films.

I am also a hunter-gatherer, looking for fruits and seeds to glean transferable knowledge. I was strolling and observing. My mind went back to my first impressions. Please, do not throw tomatoes. I am being honest.
