The Kings Players open their 2020 season with the hilarious, family-friendly comedy The Marquis Crossing Ladies Society’s First Attempt at Murder. Written by popular playwright Pat Cook, this show is filled with eccentric characters, fast-paced, witty dialogue, and of course, a delightful plot twist.

Did you ever end up in “Heartbreak Hotel” when you were trying to “Follow That Dream?” Did a “Devil in Disguise” you thought was a “Teddy Bear” turns out to be a “Hound Dog?” Do you want “A Little Less Conversation” from that “Burning Love?” Well, “It’s Now or Never!” Put on your “Blue Suede Shoes” and spend “One Night” with Reedley’s River City Theatre Company’s production of All Shook Up, a jukebox musical that blends the songs of Elvis Presley with bits and pieces of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night and Romeo and Juliet.

About three years ago I got the idea to write a one-man show. I had been reviewing and attending Rogue Festival performances for a few years, and since I also did theatre, I figured why not give it a try? It wasn’t until a year or so later I started formulating the structure and content of what a one-man show about me would look like.

Join the Visalia Players for Beehive, the musical, a trip down memory lane, or for those who are younger, a peek into a time that was turbulent, jubilant, and by some, considered innocent. The 1960s was a decade that for women encompassed a transition from homemaker of the 1950s, picture June Cleaver (Leave it to Beaver) to the freedom of making their way in the world, envision Janis Joplin (Me and Bobby McGee).

Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theatre overflows with the raucous, bawdy fun of the Good Company Players production of the Karey Kirkpatrick/Wayne Kirkpatrick/John O’Farrell 2015 musical, which runs through March 15.
