The classic musical The Sound of Music comes through Fresno in a couple of weeks for two performances at the William Saroyan Theater. We sat down with Mike McLean, who plays Captain Georg von Trapp, in this touring production to learn more about his background and what it is like playing such a well known character.

Yes, the hills are alive with The Sound of Music, but now the sounds are being made by the Raisin’ Cain Players in the just-opened Selma Arts Center, 1935 High St.

The new Selma Arts Center opens Saturday, September 14 with a production by the Raisin’ Cain Players of The Sound of Music. There is a gala grand opening showing on September 14 that will help to fund additional improvements for the Arts Center.

Visalia is alive with the Sound of Music for one weekend only. The quintessential Rogers and Hammerstein musical is coming to life again through the League of Christian Actors starting Thursday June 21.

The Sound of Music is Reedley’s River City Theatre Company’s 50th production since becoming a year round theatre in 2003. The show only has seven more performances including tonight’s at 8 p.m.
