Staying Cool in City Pools This Summer

With summer weather finally approaching everyone will be trying to find ways to stay cool and to have some fun. For those of us who don’t have our own pools the City pool has always been a great, inexpensive option for both staying cool and having fun. Unfortunately, due to the current economy some of those pools will either not be open this summer or will be cutting back on hours.

Before I tell you about this year's summer excursion, I need to revisit August 22nd of 2009. To anyone else, it was a regular Saturday -- the one day of the week to sleep in -- but not for me. I had been looking forward to this day so was not able to sleep late.

Visalia Happenings

In 2007, Visalia dedicated The Jim Byrd Playground. This very unique playground was designed with the assistance of students from two Visalia elementary schools and physically constructed entirely by citizen volunteers. One of its features is the 1000 hands wall.
