This beautiful, poignant and ultimately timely piece follows a group of high school seniors at a Catholic boarding school facing issues of sexuality and personal identity.

Local Performer Kailyn Sanders Making a Difference In Difficult Times

Performers all over the world have been doing things to help others during this pandemic, including providing free entertainment for those stuck at home, and doing fundraisers for various charities. Local performer, Kailyn Sanders, who is only 12 years old, started doing video fundraisers of her own to help make a difference. Kailyn has been performing for eight years now, both in local shows with Good Company Players and Shine! Theatre, and she was in a National Tour of A Christmas Story, the Musical.

Island of the Blue Dolphins Presented By Shine Theatre

A young woman is left behind on an island off the California coast and survives by her wits and skills for 18 years. It really happened, and Scott O’Dell turned the story into a Newbery-winning children’s novel, Island of the Blue Dolphins. SHINE! Youth Theatre is staging Katy Realista’s adaptation of the book at the People’s Church, and it’s a celebration of a lost culture.
