Happy Go Lucky Wheaties

by Lee Juslin

Breydon, a five-month-old Wheatie, came into Greater NY/NJ Scottie Rescue from a Mennonite puppy mill. Like so many puppy mill dogs, he has a genetic defect in that he has no knee joint in a rear leg. To make matters worse, he was kept in a cage preventing the leg muscles from strengthening. Consequently, he was dragging his leg when he came into rescue.

Bailee: Show Me Love and I Will Dance for You

by Lee Juslin

A beautiful wheaten Scottie, Bailee, is a big boy at about thirty pounds. He has had a rough time, but has a lot of love and companionship to give to the right forever home. He became stressed at losing his home and being dragged off by a stranger, so he bit the animal control officer.

Then the husband died rather suddenly and the wife was left with the difficult decision of what was best for Fannie and Farley.

My Scottish terrier therapy dog, McDuff, proved it time after time with his off-the-chart intelligence and you-won’t- believe stubbornness that outsmarted and frustrated me to tears.

by Lee Juslin

McDuff is a Scottish Terrier who came to the author, Judy McFadden, as a puppy. There is nothing as cute as a Scottie puppy; all head, eyes dancing with mischief, they steal hearts in an instant. The book chronicles McDuff’s the road from puppyhood to becoming a certified therapy dog, a path that is not common for Scotties, with a lot of emphasis along the way on the author’s personal struggles.
