Another year has ended and once again we take a look back at just a few of the many books that were reviewed in KRL and KRL News and Reviews in 2021. While 2021 was another difficult year, a lot of wonderful books came out! All but one of our main reviewers share in this post their top 5-10ish favorite books they reviewed in 2021. Katherine Costa wanted to include favorite authors and TV shows that she has reviewed, so hers is going up in a separate post next week!

Darrell Henshaw is a good football coach, has OCD that’s sort-of in check (he counts and touches things, but it’s not a debilitating, Monk-level), and just lost his job and his girlfriend in Maryland. He’s working a junior-high football camp in Cape May, New Jersey, hoping to get together again with Erin, and wishing that ghosts would leave him alone. That’s how things are in Randy Overbeck’s Crimson at Cape May.

Right about now—six months into this pandemic, still not able to do much and smack dab in the middle of an nasty election season—could you use a getaway? Have you had to restrain your impulse to throw something at the TV during the latest Coronavirus update or when another negative political ad comes on? Couldn’t you just picture yourself on an sun-drenched beach, toes in the warm sand, and a frosty drink on your hand? Or maybe sailing across blue green waters, waves lapping peacefully at the sides of your sailboat with the shoreline around you exploding with color?
