Duncan Needs His Own Person to Love

by Lee Juslin

Duncan, a Scottie/Airedale mix, came into NY/NJ Scottie Rescue a very frightened little boy. Judged to be about a year old, he was very young acting, probably because he was not socialized. He had spent most of his short life in a crate or chained outside. He was terrified of other dogs and people and had no experience as a beloved pet.

Sydney, Looking for Love

by Lee Juslin

Sydney is a friendly Scottie mix that is about eight years old. He was sent to a New York City shelter, and they contacted NY/NJ Scottie Rescue. Sydney had a number of health issues including an unidentified lump on his throat. He also needed dental work, and since the rescue has no health records, he was given a thorough vet check-up plus blood work.

Tiggy, a Velcro Dog

by Lee Juslin

Tiggy, a young Cairn, was turned into NY/NJ Scottie Rescue when his owner lost her husband. She was overwhelmed with the loss and didn’t have the time to give Tiggy the attention he craved and was used to. The lady’s sister was a breeder and gave her a Scottie puppy hoping it would cheer her up.

Jarret, A Diamond in the Ruff

by Lee Juslin

Jarret is either a Schnauzer mix or, what dog people call, a natural Schnauzer, because his ears have not been docked and are floppy. The tail, however, has been docked. At about three years old, Jarret has been with NY/NJ Scottie rescue for one year. He was pulled from a New York City shelter that determined he was a Scottie so they called NY/NJ Scottie Rescue.
