The deputy mayor of New York City is bleeding in the upstairs bedroom. His wife and the kitchen staff are missing, the dinner is not prepared, and the guests for their tenth-anniversary party are sharing gossip and trying to cover over the facts in Rumors, a madcap farce by the late great Neil Simon, now playing in a Good Company Players’ production at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater through May 7.
Since the 1950s, Simon has been the go-to guy for laughter on radio, TV, and in the movies. Barefoot in the Park, Sweet Charity, The Odd Couple, The Goodbye Girl, Brighton Beach Memoirs…..comedy is spelled Neil Simon.
Neil Simon is one of the best known and best loved American Playwrights in history. From Barefoot In The Park, to The Odd Couple, to The Goodbye Girl, he is as good as it gets. One of Simon’s lesser-known works, a play titled Fools is currently playing at the Good Company Player’s 2nd Space Theatre in Fresno through August 20.
The Neil Simon play Brighton Beach Memoirs opened in Selma at the Selma Arts Center this past weekend, presented by the Raisin' Cain Players.
