Hunting Hour By Margaret Mizushima: Review/Giveaway

by Cynthia Chow

After sifting through memories and discovering the truth about her abusive childhood, Timber Creek, Colorado Deputy Mattie has fallen into a morass of distrust and depression. Therapy helps, but it still comes down to the fact that there is no one Mattie trusts enough to let down her guard, share secrets, or reveal emotions. Mattie has even distanced herself from the friendship she had formed with veterinarian Cole Walker, allowing only her K-9 partner Robo to remain close.

It’s unfortunate that their latest assignment has them searching for Adrienne Howard, a human and animal masseuse and the girlfriend of Deputy Ken Brody. Mattie and Brody may have had their differences, but she would never have wished this upon her worst enemy. Robo proves himself to be a fantastic tracker, but this is a time when the results do not bring good news.

Killing Trail By Margaret Mizushima: Review/Giveaway

by Cynthia Chow

Mattie Lu Cobb has been working as a K-9 officer for less than a month, but her seven years of experience with the Timber Creek County Sheriff’s office means that she’s not a novice. When a meeting with a high school principal to discuss K-9 inspections is cancelled due to a callout, it’s actually a relief for Mattie who, during her childhood, ran wild through school. Although Mattie never doubts her K-9 partner, Robo’s, skills, she couldn’t predict that his first assignment would result in the discovery of a teenager’s murdered body.
