Once again another year has ended, and we take a look back at a few of the many books reviewed in KRL in 2017. All but one of our main reviewers share in this post their top 5 favorite books they reviewed in 2017 (well some of them may fudge on that a bit).
Lola Woodby is an ex-Society Matron. When her cheating husband kicked the proverbial bucket, she was left penniless. What’s a gal supposed to do? Lola formed the The Discreet Retrieval Agency with her former cook, Berta, as her sidekick. As a cook, Berta is excellent. As a sidekick, she sometimes seems more in charge than Lola. Still, the gumshoe business is a good fit for the both of them.
Agnes Blythe worked for years to put her boyfriend, Roger, through school. Now he’s a professor, and it’s her turn to get a graduate degree. Roger will be her graduate advisor. Things would be going well if Roger hadn’t just announced he wants to break up with Agnes to be with a Pilate’s instructor.
Time for summer time beach reads. There’s a new series to try, our favorite bookstore mysteries, and a few titles that will make you crave a cupcake. Enjoy!
