If you have ever seen MacBeth on stage, I guarantee you that haven't seen a production like the one currently on stage at the College of the Sequoias in Visalia. This is a multimedia production unlike anything I've ever seen.
This weekend, for 2 performances only, Fresno Pacific University will present Dark as the Night, Selections from Shakespeare. We took a moment to chat about the show with the director, Brooke Aiello, who is an Adjunct Theatre Professor and Costume Shop Coordinator at FPU.
It comes across a black expanse fissured with jagged cracks of blood red, peopled with refugees from a Halloween Haunt and a martial arts studio. It is a violent, unsettling version of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the first play in the Woodward Shakespeare Festival’s tenth season in Fresno’s Woodward Park.
