Q & A With Local Band The Media

This Valley is filled with a multitude of talent and we here at KRL enjoy featuring that talent. This week we are chatting with local band The Media whose members are: Pedro Montes (guitar/back-up vocals); Jared Cato (congas/percussion); Miguel Padilla (drums); Steven Balladarez (horns/vocals); Octavio Moreno (bass). They come from several different local towns, including Reedley and Dinuba.

Valley Parades: London Christmas Parade

There are three more parades on my schedule – let the countdown begin! On December 12 I headed south on 99 once again, this time to the tiny town of London. If you're confused, it's London, California I'm talking about. I'd be willing to bet most Central Californians have never heard of this community of 2500, located 20 miles southeast of Kingsburg and nestled in the middle of acres of vineyards, peach and nectarine orchards and citrus groves.

Recently a friend introduced me to Bob The Cat, probably the most famous cat out there right now besides Grumpy Cat, especially in the UK. There are two full length books about this amazing cat--A Street Cat Named Bob and How He Saved My Life, and then the more recent release of The World According to Bob. Both are written by Bob's owner James Bowen. These books are now on the top of my list for favorite books ever!

Library For London Project

There is simply no better way to describe Robert Isquierdo, Jr. and the Ambassadors for the Library for London Project, than as that small group of thoughtful, committed citizens who really are going to change the world. In fact, they’ve already begun! Their first project of change is underway in a big way in the tiny community of London, California.
