ReQueered Tales has been super busy in the last few weeks! Work has been done on getting out Ice Blues and Third Man Out both by Richard Strachey, the combo title of Deadly Lies/Stolen Moments by John Preston, Winter Eyes and Buried on a Sunday by Lev Raphael, and A Bard on Hercular, the epic science fiction conclusion to the City on a Star trilogy by Felice Picano!

Two months ago, we celebrated Pride Month. Each year during the month of June, the achievements, advances, and absolute fabulousness of the LGBTQ culture are celebrated and supported on a national scale with parades, shows, marches, and other activities. And while music, glitter, and lots of rainbow flags are festive, struggles and setbacks – private, public, and political – still exist within the community. And those issues will still be in evidence after the party’s over.

This is a call to action! Libraries and books by LGBTQ+ authors are under attack. In North Carolina during Pride month, one library was under assault by the racist, homophobic, xenophobic, and transphobic Proud Boys during their Drag StoryTime event. Parents had to escort their children out a backdoor so that they would not be inundated with hateful speech. Thank goodness for the librarians who stood in front of the programming doors so that the Proud Boys, escorted by police, could not gain entry.

I published Murder and Mayhem: An Annotated Bibliography of Gay and Queer Males in Mystery, 1909-2018 in February of 2020. Since the publication, I have been adding to the file for a second edition release hopefully in 2024, however, as I have been a working nomad jumping from computer station to computer station, I had everything saved on a USB. As many of you have guessed, there has been an issue with my USB, and I have lost all of the additions I have made since 2020.
