Shadow of the Alchemist is the latest Medieval Noir mystery from Jeri Westerson featuring The Tracker Crispin Guest. This one is filled with all of the normal adventure, along with some alchemists, an unusual deaf mute and the mythical Philosopher's Stone.

While I had some trouble believing Nicolas Cage as a knight, I did enjoy Season of the Witch. The story begins with the Crusades and two knights, Behmen and Felson, (Cage and Ron Perlman) who believe they are serving God, but over time become disillusioned and desert.
Interview by Marilyn Meredith, book review by Lorie Lewis Ham, and contest to win a copy of Demon's Parchment by Jeri Westerson.
Medieval noir mystery author Jeri Westerson was kind enough to answer a few questions for me about her and her latest book.
