I have never completed the book series but I have always loved and looked forward to the Hunger Games movies. I was especially looking forward to this one because I wanted to know what a Hunger Games movie would be like without actual hunger games taking place. This was a fabulous movie that did not disappoint.
David O. Russell, director of last year’s hit Silver Linings Playbook, is back with a new drama, American Hustle. Loosely based on the FBI ABSCAM operation of the late 70s, American Hustle stars a fantastic ensemble who give "mind blowingly" amazing performances.
The film version of Hunger Games: Catching Fire is a lot like The Hunger Games, only better.
That’s hard to believe. So many second installments of movie franchises suffer from “hammock syndrome,” where nothing important happens, because it’s all a set-up for the third and final installment. Second films are looked upon with lowered expectations, but Catching Fire delivers on the potential of the series.
If you saw the trailers for Silver Linings Playbook, you probably thought you would be getting another raunchy romantic comedy starring two of the hottest actors right now: Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence. Well let me tell you these trailers were completely misleading. I am not the biggest fan of rom coms, but I loved the talent involved with this movie. Aside from the leads, the film also includes Robert DeNiro, Jackie Weaver, and Julia Stiles.
I am a huge fan of the Hunger Games trilogy so when asked to review the movie, of course, I was excited to do so. My enthusiasm waned; however, after realizing that I was less then enthralled with the Hollywood version of the book.
