Jane Yellowrock

Cold Reign By Faith Hunter: Review/Giveaway

by Terrence McArthur

Faith Hunter’s Jane Yellowrock is tough. She’s a Cherokee skinwalker with Beast, a mountain lion, sharing her soulspace. She killed a man when she was five years old. She’s over a hundred years old, but she looks good. She’s a vampire hunter employed by Leo Pellesier, the vampire Master of New Orleans. Her ex-boyfriend is a werepanther. There’s a vampire calling her Master living under her stairs like a Harry Potter with fangs, and she has a wreath/crown in her closet, glowing. Jane is no Plain Jane.

Jane Yellowrock is a fighter. A Native American skinwalker sharing her soul with a mountain lion (known as Beast), motorcycle-riding Jane kills rogue vampires while she works for the biggest vamp in the American Southeast. For nine novels, Faith Hunter has created traps, obstacles and mysteries for Jane to solve and overcome, with occasional short stories and novellas to flesh out characters and fill in gaps in the narrative.

Dark Heir By Faith Hunter

by Terrance Mc Arthur

Dark Heir is the ninth book in Faith Hunter’s Jane Yellowrock series. Does the series hold up after so many outings? Yes. Oh, yes indeed.
Jane is a Cherokee skinwalker connected to a mountain lion she calls Beast, and Jane hunts vampires. Of late, she’s been working in New Orleans for Leo, master vampire of the city, but she’s put on loan to the police when a really-really-old witch/vampire (known as the Son of Darkness) stops being a glorified-but-ironic wall ornament, breaks out of Leo’s L-5 basement and starts draining everything in sight.

She is also a shapechanger, And there is a mountain lion spirit trapped inside her. Jane is a Cherokee who was forced onto the Trail of Tears in 1830, which means she is about 200 years old. But the lady is still deadly and sexy in a fight.

Black Water: A Jane Yellowrock Short Story Collection by Faith Hunter

by Lorie Lewis Ham

This anthology has three stories from Faith Hunter's Jane Yellowrock series, and it is available only as an e-book. I have to admit that this was my introduction to Jane Yellowrock, but even though two of the stories take place during the series I was still able to enjoy them and didn't feel that lost. The other story is a prequel of sorts and introduces us to a young Jane which was a perfect introduction for me to the character. Jane is a skinwalker and vampire hunter.

Black Arts By Faith Hunter: Review/Interview/Giveaway

by Terrance Mc Arthur

In Black Arts, Faith Hunter’s latest book in the series, Jane Yellowrock is a shape-shifting vampire hunter with a mountain lion trapped inside her soul, and is metaphysically chained to Leo, the master vampire of New Orleans. This is a ticklish situation for her, and she doesn’t want him to know she is bound to him. Leo has a security job for Jane, running things for a high-stakes vampire event, but she has her own problems: Molly is missing. Molly, a witch, used to be Jane’s best friend…until Jane killed her sister.
