American TV has been lacking a bit the last season or so in the mystery genre, but this season's mid season release of the show Instinct has finally given mystery fans something to cheer about again.
Having seen and enjoyed past Alex Cross movies staring Morgan Freeman, I was hesitant to see Alex Cross, which is the new movie based on the book Cross by James Patterson and starring Tyler Perry. My first thought was how can Tyler Perry take on a role played by the phenomenal Morgan Freeman? But I went anyway--I mean it was a mystery/suspense movie and KRL had just reviewed the book.
The main characters in this book are Alex Cross, Michael Sullivan and John Sampson. Alex, the protagonist in this very popular series by James Patterson, spent three years in private practice as a psychologist and then became a full-time Washington, DC homicide detective. After that, he joined the FBI, working primarily as a profiler. Michael Sullivan is a serial killer/rapist/mob hitman, nicknamed The Butcher. John Sampson is Alex’ former partner from his cop days, and still his close friend.
The Women’s Murder Club is back in the tenth installment of James Patterson’s and Maxine Paetro’s best selling series. Finally Lindsay Boxer ties the knot with her long time beau, Joe, and is as happy as she could be, but a case about a missing child pulls her back into her job more intensely than ever. At the same time, her friend, ADA, Yuki Castellano, is prosecuting the trial that could make or break her career, and Lindsay gets involved when all doesn’t look as it seems.
Angel, by James Patterson, is the latest installment in his youth series about Maximum Ride and her flock of genetically altered bird-kids, regular children who have wings and various super-human abilities. Max and the other kids were experimented on by evil scientists in a place called “The School.”
On April 29, 2008 best selling author James Patterson and co-author Gabrielle Charbonnet released a romance novel called Sundays at Tiffany's. This entertaining and well written story made its way into a Lifetime Television original movie which premiered on December 6, 2010.
