Godspell: A stage musical based on the Book of Matthew in the New Testament, conceived and originally directed by John-Michael Tebelak, with music and new lyrics (Some lyrics are taken from hymnals and Biblical scriptures. Two songs are by Peggy Gordon and Jay Hamburger: “Day by Day,” from the Off-Off-Broadway version, and “Beautiful City, which was written for the 1973 movie.) by Stephen Schwartz.

Immanuel Schools’ Music Department proudly presents Stephen Schwartz’ Godspell, a contemporary look at Jesus and his disciples according to the gospel of Matthew. The musical will be presented in ten performances November 10-18. Tickets are $10 Adults, $7 Students/Seniors.

Godspell On Stage At The Reedley Opera House

This past weekend Godspell opened at the Reedley Opera House presented by the Reedley River City Theatre Co. and I had the privilege of actually seeing it twice! This may very well be the best show I’ve ever seen there, and it’s one you won’t want to miss. For a little background, music and lyrics for this show were written by Stephen Schwartz who wrote Wicked.
