Valley Animal Center Take a Sip of Sweet Sarsaparilla!
by Allix Ollivier
Last summer, the Valley Animal Center (VAC) rescued a German Shorthaired Pointer mama dog and her litter of 12 puppies. The puppies were all given Old Western-themed names. It didn’t surprise the staff when the whole litter was quickly adopted. Unfortunately a few weeks ago, one of the puppies was surrendered to the SPCA. Luckily our contact information was still on the microchip and the SPCA gave us a call to see if we wanted to rescue her again. We immediately went to get our dog back. The dog, now a year old, was Sarsaparilla who was named such due to the root beer color of her coat.
